Easyjet boost for Bulgaria

Budget airline Easyjet has recently announced a new route between London and Sofia that will be introduced in November. This news comes as a boost to Bulgarian property investors as it will make Sofia a more accessible weekend break destination, as well as a more viable option for British property investors thanks to the cheap airfares associated with the company.

London is already one of the most popular destinations for planes leaving Sofia International Airport and with the introduction of Easyjet’s low-cost tickets, it is expected that demand for the route will increase. Sofia has recently been voted Europe’s cheapest living destination, and property prices are still relatively low in comparison to other emerging European countries. With an increase in tourism expected thanks to Easyjet’s low-cost air-fares, property investment in the city looks set to increase too.

Prices for one-bedroomed apartments start from around $50,000 with rental incomes as high as 8% – figures which are attracting interest from foreign property investors worldwide.
